I just realized something this morning…
I miss reading the comic strip each morning in the newspaper.
Especially Calvin and Hobbes and The Far Side–my perennial favorites.
What better way is there to start the morning than with a good giggle?ย
Perhaps an inspirational reading might be better, but for me a giggle first and then the inspirational reading works best. ๐
So here are a couple of giggles for you, Gentle Blog Reader.
The Far Side by Gary Larson
Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson
This was the first Far Side comic by Gary Larson I ever saw, and I was hooked from that moment on.
I’m going toย start each morning with a daily giggle from now on by looking at a Calvin and Hobbes comic via an app on my phone. What fun!

So funny! Had to comment because as soon as you said Farside I saw in my mind, the first cartoon I had ever seen and it was the very same one you posted about the cars. I have never been a cartoon person but because I always had my own laying hens my kids insisted that I watch “Chicken Run”. I did and wow! They have it down right about chickens. You have to see it if you haven’t yet.
Chicken Run is fabulous, Chris. I can’t remember laughing at many movies as hard as I did at that one. ๐ I just checked and it’s on Netflix! SCORE!
I do have to admit that I didn’t ‘get’ the Far Side Cow-Car comic right away. Took me a minute. ๐
I love the Midvale School for the Gifted. I reference that one often to see who gets it. Calvin & Hobbes is my favorite strip though. I miss it….
I laugh every time I ‘pull’ a PUSH door and think of that comic. ๐
